Los Angeles-based artist Clare Graham constructs functional furniture pieces and abstract sculptures from his vast collection of objects such as vintage buttons, bottle caps, puzzle pieces, aluminum pop-tops, and thrift store paintings. The CAFAM gallery space will be used to recreate the aesthetic and spirit of MorYork, Graham’s iconic Highland Park studio and gallery space. As a former art director at Disneyland, Graham’s thrift shop-fueled sculptural practice stands in stark contrast to the slick costume and set design that is the Disney trademark. Supported in part by the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts.
